Two new projects were funded
Recently, two new projects were funded. The first one is a research partnership with African Parks to study effects of white rhino reintroduction to African grasslands. The partnership is made possible thanks to a $2 million gift from an anonymous donor that will be equally distributed between both organizations. The fund will support the development of the state-of-the-art hyperspectral remote sensing capacity in both Qiu and Donaldson lab, including both hand-held and drone-based imaging spectroscopy.

The second project is an internal fund. This is a collaboration between Levine, Qiu, Doyle, and Chainey. The project tile is “Quantifying the Extent, Hydrologic Impact, and Solutions to Wildfire-driven Forest Loss in the Western U.S.”. More details can be found here.
